Research & Development

Our motto is to combine skills and consolidate knowledge way beyond all competence and jurisdiction boundaries. Therefore, the SRU group cooperates very closely with schools and universities.

System products resulting from collaborations and in-house developments.
VEGA Hall system
Today, more than ever, solar systems must be comfortable, efficient and economical, but also environmentally friendly. We have developed a solution called VEGA which provides a perfect symbiosis. The ideal combination of photovoltaic installation and hall system produces the advantage that this construction method represents.

Renovation of blocks of flats
The renovation of blocks of flats is a fully developed application. It combines the use of solar systems with the utilization of renewable energy sources and the building. The goal striven by the Renewable Energy Law (EEG) of 2009 is already reached with this construction. So the roof, as integral part of the building becomes the system to produce energy.

Outdoor solar system on critical ground
Outdoor solar system on critical ground Through research and development, natural reversible solutions are developed to use solar energy in particular for critical ground (disposal sites, sand, ...). The soil binder permits building facilities outdoors without anthropogenic components. After plowing, the area is fit again for agricultural use.

Solar port
Economically, the solar port is twofold attractive as a clever source of income for the customer, since it amortises and brings an additional surplus.

Pit water
The pit water project is in a pre-industrial status and allows the energetic use of pit and mine water. This is an interesting potential to win heat from the deep layers of the earth through the carrier medium of water.

Partners for research and development
Approximately 70% of the earth is covered with water. If one assumes that the largest part the water surface area is not used, this area hides a huge potential. With floating photovoltaic systems we can promote the utilization of renewable energy systems on the water.

A pilot project is taking place on inland waters in Nordhausen (Thuringia) to test its industrial implementation. Partners for research and development The University of Karlsruhe is one of the leading educational and research institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany and enjoys an excellent reputation as a gateway between science and economics.

The University of Applied Sciences of Nordhausen hosts the largest study program for renewable energy and has been an effective partner for the SRU Solar Plc. in the field of education and research since 2007. TÜV Thüringen (Technical Inspection Authority) is an internationally active service for all questions on safety and quality.

The University of Applied Sciences of Erfurt supports our company in strategic enterprise management and structuring.
At the Fraunhofer Center for silicon photovoltaic CSP two institutes combine their expertise in the Photovoltaic: the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE.
